Gift giving is not always easy. Too many choices, too few choices, expensive shipping, not enough time to shop – the list goes on.
I came across Wantful.com a few days ago, and I knew I had to share it with you. I’m not affiliated with them in any way, I just think it’s a fresh and fun take on gift-giving. Wantful allows you to curate a book of gift options for your recipient who then receives a “look book” in the mail. After choosing from the options, Wantful sends the selected gift directly to the recipient.
I’m heading to Portland for my sister’s college graduation in a couple weeks, so I decided to test it out and see what they could come up with for her. (Sarah, if you’re reading, this was a test! A test! My presence is a gift enough, right?)
I began by entering simple details:
And then answered a few questions about Sarah’s lifestyle and interests:
I was then presented with a lengthy list of gifts in my selected $50 range. I went through them and filled my grid with 16 choices. The majority of items were food-related – boxes of cookies, cheese boards, sets of teas. Other fun items included a hip watch, a nice leather journal, and charities like Charity Water where Sarah could choose to donate her gift money.
It would be helpful if users could specify the age of the recipient since a lot of the gifts were suited for someone much older than my sister.

Overall, this is a very cool idea, especially for a foodie or a relative who is hard to shop for. The gift choices are a bit impersonal for a best friend or a close relative, but it is certainly a modern, unique way to give!
